ABOUT ME
My name is Fem and I’m a 24-year-old Dutch girl. I have a great passion for analysis, concepting, and fashion.
I was born and raised in Schagen, a small city in the north of the Netherlands. Thankfully, I have always felt a deep connection to the ocean environment, and it's next to the sea where I truly feel at home. This is the place where I grew up.
My mother raised me, and because of this I have a very strong bond with my mother; we are very close. Therefore, I love spending time together with my family.
My number one activity while growing up was creating and volleyball. I started at the age of 14 when I finally found my passion for the sport. Volleyball has taught me many things, such as discipline, determination, strength, precision, passion, creativity, and aesthetics (all keywords that describe me). Since this is a team sport and I did not have enough time for it, I had to regrettably stop practicing it.
I attended the In-and Outdoor Styling course after high school to pursue my goal of becoming an All-Round Stylist. Here, I learned to make floral arrangements, interior styling, table styling, drawing, painting techniques (movements), and the latest (interior and fashion) trends. I have found a great passion for trendwatching since this course.
After my diploma I went to study at AMFI [Amsterdam Fashion Institute] to study the bachelor Fashion & Business & Development. I wanted to learn more about fashion, the industry, and my role in it. I grew to have an even greater interest in developing, creating, and concepting. I found it valuable to learn more about making the fashion industry sustainable, advising brands, and developing concepts that create an impact and could make a difference.
I aimed to elevate my understanding by focusing my graduation project on the study of emotional branding. Through an academic paper, I explored the ways brands can forge authentic, lasting connections with their audiences by tapping into emotions. I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in early 2025.
At this stage of my life, I believe that others would describe me as kind, empathetic, courageous, sweet, and open-minded.
